The Meadow Ridge Moose is a new Senior Female A team that will be competing in the South Coast Female Amateur Hockey League
(SCFAHL) for the 2013-2014 season. The team will play out of Planet Ice Maple Ridge and offers female players, 18+, from Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows and those in the Fraser Valley, an opportunity to continue playing hockey at a competitive level.
Many of the players are former Barracudas who have played for several years with the Meadow Ridge Female Minor Hockey Association, as young adults the Moose offers them an opportunity to continue the tradition of playing and representing their community.
The team is a member of BC Hockey and will compete with 8 other teams in the league: TWU Titans, SFU Surrey, South Fraser TNT, Richmond Devils, Delta Jets, BC Thunder, Kamloops Vibe and the Victoria Phantoms.
League play begins in early October, opening with the World Female Hockey Weekend, and ends in mid-March after the conclusion of Provincials.
We would like to thank the Ridge Meadows Minor Hockey Association, Meadow Ridge Barracudas, Pacific Coast Amatuer Hockey Association, and Planet Ice Maple Ridge for their support in our efforts to bring an additional level of female hockey to the communities of Pitt Meadows/Maple Ridge.
