SCFAHL

Each of the league’s two first-year teams won twice in Week 8 to make a move in the standings.
The Meadow Ridge Moose took over first place from the idle Kamloops Vibe, sweeping a two-game series on Vancouver Island against the Victoria Phantoms by scores of 2-0 and 1-0 to improve to 11-0-0 on the season, three points up on the 9-0-1 Vibe.
Clara Gaudet and Emily Jude were the goal scorers for the Moose Saturday, while Paige Clark earned the shutout. Madeline Cockrill had the only goal of the game Sunday, with Alex Frisk earning the shutout in the Ridge Meadows net.
Victoria netminder Melinda Choy was busy in both games, making a total of 88 saves on 91 shots faced.
The South Fraser TNT also won twice by shutout playing away from home. They blanked the Richmond Devils 6-0 Saturday night, then stopped the Delta Jets 2-0 Sunday.
In Richmond, the TNT broke open a scoreless game with six goals in the third period, four from Kirsten Mihalcheon. Michele Reid and Hilary Spires also tallied for the TNT, with Cathy Hambly earning three assists.
Sunday in North Delta, the TNT got a game-winning goal from Michelle Zeigler on a powerplay late in the second period, then added an insurance goal from Michele Reid early in the third.
TNT goalie Sandra Grant made 29 saves in each game to collect a pair of shutouts.
The Devils, at 6-4-0, remain a point up on the 5-3-1 TNT. Richmond topped Simon Fraser University 5-1 Friday night in Surrey. Nancy La Chimea put SFU up 1-0 in the first minute of play, but Richmond was up 3-1 by the first intermission and 4-1 after two periods.
Jane Gregory-Herbold netted two goals for Richmond, with Carly Millman, Claire Benwood and Jenny Wilson adding singles.
The Trinity Western University Titans played the Delta Jets to a 2-2 tie Saturday night in the Langley Events Centre. Tamara Jaksa and Chandra Frederickson scored for the Jets, Karli Friesen and Ritue Grewal replied for the Titans.
